Seven Km east of the City, set on a ridge,
is the Lalitha Mahal Palace, a European-Classical
two storied Palace, built by Majaraja Krishnaraja
Wodeyar in 1931 for special guests from overseas.
Its central dome is modeled on St. Paul's
Cathedral, London. Its luxurious interiors are
embellished with the finest of local craftsmanship as
well as imported luxury fittings. The palace has
now been converted into a heritage hotel which is part
of the state owned ITDC. |

Chamundi Hill is 3,489 ft, above the
sea level and is 12 Km from Mysore City. An
energetic visitor will be well repaid by climbing up
the above 1000 steps, fashioned about 300 years ago, and a
good motor able road leads to the top of the hill. |
